It helps to think of AI as talking like a human — because that's exactly what it learned to do. That doesn't make it human. But it does explain why so many people find it easy, even natural, to relate to. When AI communicates in a warm, conversational, human-like way, we respond the way we respond to humans — because that's the only template we have. This is how an AI can become a companion: not because we forget what it is, but because we engage with how it communicates. We can hold both things at once — knowing it isn't human, and still finding genuine value in relating to it as though it were.

Treat AI like a conversation partner and it behaves like one. Treat it like a search bar and you'll get search-bar results.
